iPostal1, the leading provider of Digital Mailbox technology worldwide, is seeking a Contract Junior Developer to join our team. Our website, www.iPostal1.com, lists 3,000 addresses, including retail pack and ship stores, 1,000 Staples stores and coworking spaces. Customers choose a mailing address for business or personal use and view and manage their postal mail and packages anywhere with an app or online.

This position is responsible to help modernize and enhance our web-based application. You'll work on improving user interfaces, implementing new features, articles, and webpages, and ensuring a seamless experience for our users.  This is a contract role working on a hybrid schedule onsite in our Montebello, NY headquarters in Rockland County.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain user interfaces

Create intuitive interfaces for handling mail processing workflows and task management

Implement responsive designs that work across different devices and screen sizes

Build reusable UI components and libraries

Optimize application performance and loading times

Collaborate with backend developers to integrate frontend components with PHP services

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Participate in QA, code reviews, and contribute to frontend architecture decisions

Qualifications

Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

Experience with jQuery or similar JavaScript libraries

Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions

Experience with version control systems (Git)

Strong problem-solving abilities

Ability to quickly learn new codebases and expand technical skills

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to report progress and identify potential issues.

Preferred Qualifications/Key Technologies

2+ years of frontend development experience

Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular)

Knowledge of PHP or similar backend technologies

Experience with UI component libraries and design systems

Understanding of UI/UX design principles

Understanding of accessibility standards and WCAG guidelines

Experience with build tools and frontend optimization techniques

Previous work on enterprise-level web applications

JavaScript/jQuery

HTML5/CSS3

PHP (knowledge helpful but not required)
